Theology

What words come to mind when you hear the term theology? Dry…Dreary…Doubtful…DULL? You’re not alone.

Too often we don’t realize that theology—thinking about God—is an intimate part of our everyday lives, rather than something that takes place in ivory towers crowded with bearded men crouched over dusty books. We each engage in theology because we each have a set of beliefs about God. But rather than being content with our ideas about God as they now stand, we should each have a desire to know God better than we do today. If you’ve got that desire, then you’re ready to do theology!

Let these resources point the way to a faith more deeply connected with who God actually says He is.

“I Am the True Vine”

One of Jesus’ most vivid metaphors is of a vine and branches found in John 15:1–11. Pastor Chuck Swindoll unfolds the symbolism of the Father as the vinedresser, Jesus as the sustaining vine, and believers as the branches.

He’s the Alpha and the Omega

Pastor Chuck Swindoll teaches from Revelation, illuminating how Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith. Even more, Jesus is the origin of creation and the end toward which and for which everything culminates!

The Day God Answered, “Amen”

Go back in time with Pastor Chuck Swindoll as he retells the holy saga from a first-century shopkeeper’s perspective. As the stage is set for the crucifixion, you’ll see anew the miracle awaiting after Jesus’ cruel death.
